my creative processes
First, I paint through opening myself to intangible energy patterns that flow through me and wish to be manifested.

My second technique is with sacred geometry, through which the laws of all creation are expressed. The basic structure of my mandalas or earth grids comes to me within a few hours, but then take weeks or months to be finished, as every colour requires a process of creation. Through their concentration of energy and structure, the mandalas bring me, and hopefully the viewer, into a deep state of contemplation and help move beyond the form into unlimited space. They form strong, new energetic patterns within us. I can truly feel a change of patterns on a cellular level within my entire body and in my brain structure: opening new potential; teasing dormant brain cells into life!

The third process is creating healing paintings for others (on request). Here, energy systems are altered. The process of painting as well as the finished work of art allow within the person I paint for a liberating shift of energetic patterns and therefore harmonises body and soul. This aspect of painting is a very beautiful and rewarding way to work.

media
I mainly work with acrylics on stretched and un-stretched canvases and I enjoy the exploration of soft pastels and mixed media on stretched paper.

In the period from 2004 – 2006, I often added sand from many different beaches throughout New Zealand to my paintings. Not only does this add plasticity, three-dimensionality and structure to the works, but the sand shares its ancient wisdom with us, adding further vibrations. The addition of this sand vibration permits a strong reconnection with the earth element – one which the viewer can feel, see and hear.

Since 2007 I have often worked outside using copious amounts of water. The water element enables the paintings to become more flowing. Water shares its obvious and subtle wisdom with us, challenging us to become more flexible, demanding the surrender to a divine rhythm and our ever-changing reality; connecting with the world and “all-there-is”. The water element further teaches us courage, curiosity and the strength of daring to flow within the natural rhythm of our lives.

In 2009 I started to consciously incorporate the sun's energy, a fire element, into my paintings. The drying process of wet paint on scorching hot days is incredibly different. It produces a new energy and creates metal, copper, gold and pearlescent tones, all within the one colour. Through the heat, these aspects left much more powerfully warm spherical energy on the canvas, than if they had been dried inside or outside on a cloudy day. The fire element connects us to our fire within, our creative power, our passion and strength, to the point that it is used lovingly and beneficial throughout life. So I was very fascinated and positively empowered when I realised that this fire element has come into my works.
